I tend to record a lot of my electric guitars DI, then send that to my amp later. This is a new thing for me, but i find it to be much more practical for me. This way i can get the performance im happy with before cranking up the amp, it also alows be to play around with mic possition etc without having to replay it everytime.
But....
Ive just been taking a output from my soundcard direct into my amps in, no probs..i get good level, sounds great and recordings turn out great.
But i read here that you need to use a re-amp box, or a passive DI in reverse (i assume that is to bring the reduced level back up?)
Is this important considering im having no level problems at the mo?
More importantly, am i going to damage my amp?
Cheers
