I have searched, for a hour and a half... this might seem like a simple question, and it is, but I still don't know the answer.
I have a Aardvark sound card w/ auxiliary RCA outs at consumer -10dBu. Going to Event 20/20p monitors. They will except XLR or 1/4" input plugs wired either balanced or single-ended. TRS or XLR for balanced or TS for unbalanced.
For the last 2 years I've been using 1/4" to RCA cables (all in one) I think they're TS but not sure. I now need em to be longer and went and got a couple of Mono to Mono Gold Plated 1/4" to RCA adapters and thought I could use instrument /guitar cables (TS).
But is it better to use XLR cables? Or better yet what is the best way to go about this connection?
One thing I did learn in my search was that it doesn't matter the length from the RCA outs to the inputs of the monitors... which was a concern.
Thanks for any input,
B.
