I'm looking for a good way to connect my behringer mixer to my computer. The first option I have been hearing is to connect it to my existing soundcard using a rca to 1/8" Audio adaptor cable. Am I correct in saying that will not allow me to record in stereo? If so, where can find a soundcard with analog rca inputs in the under $60 range?

Check out radio shack

Hi, not familiar with your exact setup, but you may want to check radio shack for connector options. I was able to mix and match a few adapters, in my case two mono 1/4" connecters to a single 1/8" stereo, and it works well.

If your mixer has dual (stereo) outputs this should be simple.

Is a 1/8" audio jack capable of stereo input to the computer?

Yeah, just make sure it has two rings on it.

What Benny showed you should work.

So would there be any advantage in getting a usb soundcard with two rca inputs, or would the y cable do just as well?

it's all the same...electronic signals just passing through different connections. although i'm sure everyone here would prefer you get a soundcard other than the stock one that came with your computer (assuming that's what you're using).....but if that's all can afford at the moment, then you'll be fine w/ that y-cable.
