I've built a few of my own instrument and PA cabs before and can easily find reviews of most of the raw drivers a manufacturer might use, however, when it comes to studio nearfield moniters and hi-fi stereo cabs, there seems to be a bit more mystery about what components a manufacturer is actually using and/or any good resources that rates such components.
To buy the parts, I've always used Partsexpress.com or MCMelectronics.com and have found reviews at Harmonycentral.com, but have had a hard time finding similiar resources for thier lines of Hi-fi drivers and such. Anyone know of any good links that a speaker builder might use to evaluate such componets? I've been looking into possibly building my own studio reference moniters lately and it would be great to know who's using what.
