Hey,
just recorded this for a friend of a friend... curious what could be done better.. The song isnt great.. and the instruments, especially drums are sometimes a bit ot of time.. but i didnt write it. or play anything.. so when we did 9 tries and they still couldnt get it right we jsut settled. anyways... tell me what you think, if i shoul of been able to get a lot better sound out of my motu 896, aphex preamp rode ntk and sm57.

Sorry, man, missed this earlier. I like the voice, and the guitar sounds pretty good. The beginning drums seem odd. Too convoluted for my tastes. They distract from such a clean guitar. I think they should be simpler, or not there. Sounds like a good song though. Drums are the odd thing to me. I like the voice and guitar quite a bit though. During the other parts, the drums seem ok. You could bring the guitar up a bit, but then that changes the tune. You might try that, see how it sounds.

I agree about the drums.. but they did what they wanted to do.

I understand. And actually, that was more of a personal thing for me. May not bother anyone else, and it doesn't ruin the tune.

Cool guitar. I think the vocals, bass and guitar sound very nice together. Nice job.

I say this with the utmost respect, but the vocals are just a TAD bit pitchy in some places. I do the same, and I think a lot of vocalists do. In your case, I think they are nothing unusual except for they are mixed very in front of the overall mix, so you notice what is commonplace for most singers. I would mix the vocals back a bit in the mix and add a little reverb, maybe chorus to sit them where they need to be. The vocal track is awesome and I love your ability to "dance" in the melody...not an easy task. Just seat them better and you will be in business.
Awesome tune, man.
