Just got of the phone with the Carol Shelby of the Microphone world, Taylor Johnson. http://www.oktava.com
We talked at length about his business, and he let ime in on some new info I wanted to pass on to you all.
Taylor is now putting together a whole new pre-amp series in his mics which will have audio coming down both the plus AND minus sides (Read: Hotter, less noise!)
He is building his own "souped-up" diaphragms & capsules for
the Oktavas. There are alot of mics out there these days that have Chinese capsules creeping into them. These are cheap, poorly-made capsules, showing up in products from sames as esteemed as Audix & Sennheiser.
But the BIG news...
Taylor is putting out his OWN line of mics now, called
THE Audio. These are German/American hybrids, and in recent testing, blew away many top guns, including the best of the BLUE mics.
