Rant: Upgrade from Sonar HS4 to Sonar 5

I was experimenting with TTS-1 yesterday (after reinstalling). It was cool. Then I opened a recording done in HS4 that used the Edirol VSC. Of course Sonar 5 couldn't find it because it wasn't there. I re-installed HS4 thinking there was some way that I could still use the VSC if I loaded HS4. Nope didn't work. Not only that, Sonar 5 then couldn't find the TTS-1 anymore! I have no idea what is going on....

Just a thought, if I might; the installing/uninstalling of programs can sometimes cause your PC to drop a .dll ("dynamic link library") file, which is a file that can be shared by more than one application, program, whatever. FX are most often .dll files, I think. I'm not too tech-savvy, but I'm in the ballpark.

It might be a good idea to go a little slower with your moving from one configuration to the next, especially concerning software apps. I went through some similar situations, and it can be kind of maddening! Take your time, and like you've been doing, ask a question when it comes up (but before you make a move!) with your config's. I hope I'm not presuming too much here.

Fewer bumps in the road is good- we like fewer bumps!! :)
