is it possible to raise or lower the total level of a track by a few dB In Cubase sx3 if you have already used volume automation?

I have the vocal tracks automated for a nice flow, now I need to lower the entire track some.
all help is greatly aprpeciated, thanks.

Master fader.

EDIT: Oh, oh, I see what you mean now. I misinterpreted the question. I knew it couldn't be that easy.Hmm, maybe you can just zoom way out and select all of the automation points as a group and raise them all that way.

Thats the problem, I didn't notice any change when I tried the selecting all and just raising the volume fader.
This software is fairly new to me, but I've used others. The other software's that I have used have had relatively easy ways of doing this; you select all the auto-points then select how much you want to raise them.

I am sure I'll find it, I just was looking for a easy out by asking on a message board. I don't want to have to loop it through another channel just to have a master volume on it, that would be a ridiculous use of processes.

No, no, that's not what I meant. You should try moving the actual points on the automation track.

Here, just zoom out like this, select all of the points (see how they're red?). Then just click on one and drag it up or down, wherever it needs to go. Then they will all move as a group. I just tried it, and it works.

Now, if you already have a point that is at the maximum level that the channel can go, then you won't be able to move them, because Cubase is maintaining the relative relationships between the different automation points.

Why don't you just grab the volume handle on the clip and raise it? It will only let you raise it 6db.

There is also a trim control on each channel, right next to the phase switch. Just type in the volume change you want.

That would be the easy way to do it, wouldn't it. :D

Not sure about Cubase but Nuendo has different automation modes which you can select from a drop down box at the top. Change the mode to "Trim" mode and then select the audio event that you want to raise the volume. Make sure your Left and Right Locators encompass the entire event. Turn on Automation Write, while the audio is stopped, grab the volume slider and raise it. When you switch to Trim mode and turn on Write, you will notice that the volume slider jumps to the middle of its range. This allows you to raise or lower the volume relative to the automation.

So, change to Trim mode select Automation Write for the track you want. Make sure the right and left locators encompass the entire area that you want to adjust. Raise or lower volume by whatever amount you want. Put automation on read and play file. Voila.
