Quick Question

I'm attempting to record through my amp for the first time (never really had a reason to do it before).

The amp makes no buzzing at all when playing through headphones or acoustically.
But, when I line it in to the interface, it buzzes to hell on anything louder than a few decibels.

Anyways, yea, any help you could throw my way would be unbelievably helpful.
Also, while I'm not entirely certain it's not electrical interference, I've never had a problem with it before.

You are overdriving the input of your interface causing distortion. You will need to turn the amp down until it stops distorting. Using a mic on the speaker instead of the amp's line out will yield much better results.

When you say mic the amp, are you suggesting just throwing a microphone directly in front of the amp?
Also, that sample above is clean, no effects were used, and the master volume on the amp was actually quite low.

YES.

You might try adjusting the interface's volume controls as well as the volume controls in your recording software.

Definitely an improvement, thanks.
Looking to get rid of some of the echo, and a better tone.

Any suggestions?

If that echo isn't your desired effect move that microphone right up until you touch the cloth of the speaker protector. That will eliminate any room sound.
As for sound/tone that would start at your guitar ,then your amp,then the position of the microphone on the amp.... Move it around and listen to the difference in the tone you are capturing.
Try if you can with your headphones on to listen/hear the difference moving the microphone can make.
