I have a BR1600CD and I was wondering if I could use the two 1/4'' jack to run to my bass amp for live sound while recording?

Will it hurt either the bass amp or the BR1600CD?

Thanks for any info!!!

If you're talking about running the main outs of the recorder into your bass amp that's NOT a good thing to do.

Buy a DI box and do it that way - the BR1600 already has a HiZ guitar input so if you just want to record direct that will work as well for bass as for guitar. If you want to add an amplified track you need a DI box to shunt the signal to the amp before it goes to the recorder.

I was thinking of using my bass amp as a monitor of sorts...using the headphone out direct to bass amp.

If this would do damage could I use a DI box to avoid any damage?

Why don't you just hook it up to your stereo? Or your tv, even? Obviously, the best option would be to get monitors, but your stereo would probably do better than a bass amp, IMHO.
