I have a quick question, I am not interested in maiking my own cd or anything, its just not my cup of tea. I would rather listen to good music, than make bad music:) Anyways, as my name implies, I am into physicall fitness, and am trying to make an mp3 track I can use while working out. I need to make a 4 minute long "song", that is basically quiet with a command of either stop or go at intervals. I just need to make a song telling me to "GO", and then twenty seconds later saying "Stop", and then ten seconds later saying "Go", and then repeated for 4 minutes. Anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks in advance-

Do you have any recording equipment? Most mixers have a "tape in" that you can then hit a button to "send to mix" and then with a microphone, you could add tyhe voice over, including fading out the music to wahtever degree you want. This would combine the music with the voice stuff you are looking for, then you can record however you normally record things like that.

If you need something to record with, you can download the audacity recording software for free. Do a google search for that, it will also let you export that recording as an MP3.

Hit us with further questions based on that, any parts that are not clear or that you want to try to bypass. If can let us know what yo uahve to work with it might help, for instance, it would be possible to skip the physical mixer, and record one track in audacity with your music, and then use a cheapo computer mic to record a second track with your voice overs, and do the same result. That would jsut take using the software a bit to "mix" it in a way you like .
Hope that helpsd.

if you used audacity, it need a file called lame.dll (or somehting similiar, i don;t recall). if you check out the audacity site, it links to a place to download the file zipped up, stick that in a driectory, and then when it asks you, you can tell it where that dll file is and it will export to mp3.
