would the factory souncard on a 1 year old PC be good enough to handle Reason 3.0?

this is as specific as i can get at the moment, its not my computer.
i dont even know which company its made by.
but any guestimations would be appreciated.

.peace.

Yes.. The soundcard has nothing to do with being able to handle programmes. All that would be different really is the fact that it wont sound as good as if you had a nice soundcard with ad converters in.

Most sound cards will work to play tracks from reason.
But when playing the instruments in real time using a built in sound card can be anoying because you will feel a lagg between when you strike a key and when the sound come out. Latency.
Most sound cards will get to a moderatly exceptable level of latency.

Are you using a Midi/USB keyboard controller to play the reason instruments?
I use a M-Audio Radium 49 to play reason instruments.
Also you could get a M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 sound card for $99.99 and not have any huge issues to deal with.

Reason is a killer app have fun with and realy read the manual, it even better after you do.

yeah i was hoping to hook 2 Alesis MK2 actives to the computer.
figured soundcard might not be good enough.

i'll be using a Korg microKONTROL with Reason 3.0.
the Korg goes through the USB.
