Quick question about setting volume on new monitors

I have some new active monitors, my first actives. Can someone tell me if it's OK to set the volume (on back of the monitors) all the way up and then just use the monitor volume pot on my DAW? (I've tried it and it sounds fine, but is there some lurking danger I should know about?)

I'd be a little nervous about cranking them all the way. It's not uncommon for sounds settings to get changed when you reboot or install new software. Then BAM!

Set them to a comfortable level that won't blow the speakers or your ears.
