If he doesn't take her, I'll have her!!

Bazz ... you need to chill out. It's ok to be precious over your music but this is just silly. You're on an internet forum mate, go get some perspective.

I would back down if I were you - Jake's an asshole, but he's a popular asshole. There won't be many other forums you can go if you make a muppet of yourself here!!

EDIT - If it's not clear, Jake has my old avatar mocked up as me crying cos I threw a hissy fit myself a couple of months back (or whenever it was). Do you see me spamming his mailbox?

Yeah, Noisefag is ok regardless of his hissyfit or whatever.

Insults are terms of endearment...I love you guys.

Get a life fagzlad, we are all having a good time here.

Faglaz is the best you can come up with. Shock. You have an IQ smaller than that of my Great Dane. For the record, you started the abuse by PMing me, and you lost every time. You can be as popular an asshole as you like, but do your research dickhead, I live in the West Midlands, and thus I hate Cockneys.

Also for the record I date an American. Apparently us English Guys are, and I quote;
"So much better than American Men".

Why am I NOT surprised?

As fun as a 31 year old house painter I'll bet.
Rock on big man.

Calm it down, Bazz. There's no point because even if you feel you win this argument, everyone around here still thinks you're an idiot for pursuing it to start with.

Don't bother starting on me, either. I do a mean Brummie impression. :)

Dude, I'm from Stourbridge. I have a posh accent. Well. Ish. Seriously, I don't get this, I've dropped this ages ago and said if he wants to continue he can email me, I'm trying to keep it out of the forums. The ball's in his court. I'm content that I said my piece and that's that.

So leave it! Stourbridge ... don't really know it. My brummy housemate is from Tammy and seems to have a decent accent, but his parents are downright hilarious. They're quite well off so they remind me of that Harry Enfield sketch, "considerably richer than yow".

hey...

whats with the freekin billboard of the naked dude jacken off?

you stand by "histamines" in your lyrics?? <-- rhetorical question not needing a reply.

and whats with the blowhard dude imitating avatars and calling other ppls homos? too many negative vibes.

lets keep this thread alive ok?

not.

unless its been changed theres such a thing as an ignore function on this board where you can blank out specific ppls posts. i think im going to have to do that with billboard dude so i wont have to look at him. also the homo and crybaby zingers should have been left back in kindergarten.

Man, I'd hate to see Bazzlad's reaction if I gave him a negative review, because mine are usually ten times more scathing than what he got. Unfortunately all his mp3's have disappeared.

Where's that standing behind your word and work 100% now?

If it was good why did you take it down?

I'm putting it back up. I took it off because Jake_Owa asked me to put up different songs and he'd give an honest opinion. I had to remove franc to make space. I'll put it back up now.

"silk on steel"

Ok, this sounds pretty nice.
Some pitch issues on the vocal. Something about the heavy guitar is not sitting right in the mix. It's too 2.5k heavy, too much mid-range...something I rarely say.

Not sure about the point of the song, it doesn't quite come across at all. Seems more like an attempt to seem deep rather than convey anything deep at all. Wow, you really pound that line into the ground eh?
Well, sounds like it was fun to record at least, that's the point right?

Since I know just a little bit more about you (unfortunately) from all your emails to me I can comment a bit further. This will never get you a signed contract or break you into the fame you seem so focused on. There is nothing "cool" or groundbreaking in this tune at all. That's fine if you're into recording for a hobby like the rest of us.

Good tune mate! Much better.

Hey beezknees, you're my valentine today mate.

The bass is still way outta control. The guitars sound horrid next to the overpowering and out of tune bass.

The guitar on the left gets swallowed a lot by the whole thing and really the two guitars playing different things makes for a lot of confusion rather than the focus that this part should have.
The backup vocal is way to loud in the right ear. When I see the brightest...way out...eww, this is the note that made me cringe before...eyeeeeeeeeeeeeeees...yuk.

Then the soloing comes and confuses the issue further. your doubles aren't tight enough on this to give the smooth vibe you are going for.

The ending just sucks. The messy bass drops out and the word fate brings the whole cheezeball to a horrible head.

Were you gonna rework this at all? I think there are some musical ideas here, you just need to decide what those are and go with them.

Silk on Steel was done in the recording studio 2 years ago.

That of course is an opinion. The line is from that song, and I do indeed love it, and it was fun to record. And I really, REALLY couldn't sing 2 years ago. Like the worst ever.

We had a recording contract at this point. A+R in America is obviously different to over here. They fucking loved it. Not for a single though.

The single is on there. It's called Young Love. It was recorded in the same session. The flatness of the second verse is testomony to how bad a singer I was, and that when playing a song you wrote at the age of 15, it's probably best to transpose it.
For the record, another song on there 1min63, got a shit load of airtime and got us our original deal.

I still can't see the out of tuneness on the bass line on France. I play it back solo with a click, and it sounds fine, as stated the little offishness (that's the best made up word yet) is due to my lack of fretless bass skill.

I like the ending. I worked it that way for purpose - obviously, I wanted to drop everything off one at a time, the thing I'm not sure about in the ending is the volume of the octave harmony. I will re-do this song in the future, but we don't play it as a band, so this recording is a record for me, and I planned on trying some different things with it (improvised solo, vocal ending). But as it wasn't important the vocals were done in one and slightly tipsily. I will look at the panning and probably quieten down one of the guitars as to lessen the confusion.

Thanks.

Oh and this is - if you squint the equipment in the studio. Those big black things in the backgrounds are the biggest speakers I've ever seen.
