Quick AD Converter Question

I'm going from the RCA outs from my 2-track 1/4 machine to the XLR inputs of the AD converter... What's the smartest way to do this? RCA to XLR cables? or, run the RCAs through a Line Level Shifter (-10 to +4) making the unbalanced a balanced signal, and from the Level Shifter to the XLR ins of the converter?

Would going from the RCAs to XLRs mess with the signal?

if you have a -10 line level input on the convertor do yourself a favor and use it...

Ok, the ad converter takes unbalanced signals via its XLR inputs... it says in the manual:

"Unbalanced cable used to feed unit must have signal connected to pin 2 of XLR, ground (shield) connected to pin 1 and 3".

How is this accomplished? Are there special rca to XLR cables that can do this? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I would just take cables with RCA on one end, and buy a pair of XLR-type connectors (should be male in this case) and wire up each one just like the manual says: center connector to pin 2, and solder the shield to pins 1 and 3. In fact, a single RCA-RCA could be cut in half and the XLRs put on the cut ends. Sorry, I don't know if there are pre-made cables like this.
