Hi

I have the following things

Adobe Audition 1.5
Shure sm58
laptop
all cables
an effects pedal
I was woundering what are my options for recording bass and drums?

Your options are quite limited. You'd be well served getting a small mixer of some kind to put in front of your laptop for multiple inputs and simple routing. You could mic your bass cab with the 57, but it's not the best option. And sure, you could record drums with only one 57, but it's not the best option either.

could I D/I through the effects pedal into the computer for teh bass and use 57 for drums

we are doing multi track recording so...
