Ok, I am getting started here and got a few questions: my system is a P4, plenty of Ram, just got the Echo mia. I play 2 active basses and have a bass pod. Now the questions: will I need a d.i. box? Or will the active pickups or POD suffice? Do I need a mixer? Or can i use Cakewalk's built in mixer? Do i need monitors, or can I just use the RCA on the Mia to hook up to my home stereo? What's the word? Thanks

You'll want to use a DI box to boost the signal. Don't need a mixer with the software that came with the Mia. And yes, you can run a pair of outs thru your stereo until you come up with an amp and monitors.
I learned on basically the same system for almost two years.

Good luck, have fun and welcome to the site! :)

The Pod can be used in place of a DI Box.....go straight from the pod into the soundcard....

ditto what grip said about the home stereo....if the EQ can be set flat, that would be the optimal situation.....
