I've decided to build a FAQ for Sonar and perhaps other Cakewalk products as I roll by...

Please tell me your questions that you're tired of answering.

And if you provide the answer I will give you the credit... ;)

I'm cutting bits and pieces here... damn this is timeconsuming.

And James, I've allready stolen your excellent "How to use soundfonts"-tutorial, hope that's OK! :) (You've got the credit for it)

Find it here.

Comments please! And rember I started today.... ;)

Hey, you're following Slack's idea, huh? But that's good... I'll see what I can do...:D

SoundFonts & Non-Creative Audio Cards

Moskus,

I have written a tutorial for using SoundFonts with non-Creative audio cards. It involves using Virtual Sampler 2.74

I think James can provide the link for that.

I'm part way through writing the tutorial for Virtual Sampler 3 & non-Creative cards. But I'm experiencing major problems at present.

I've got the section on loading the SFs into VS3, that's easy.
Unfortunately I can't hear anything through HS2002! Total silence. That plus frequent crashes or my system hanging leads me to believe there may be some other force at work here.

What if you used past posts, grouped for subject by searches as a directory of faq's? Would that get you there quicker?
When i think of the shear volume of the subjects alone...seems like a monster task.

Bluesmeister: Brilliant! I'll wait for James to provide that link... :)

Mixsit: I don't think that would be faster, then I have to read every post in the search results... ;)

A section on "Quick Fixes" would be a tremendous help to people like me (new to digital and Cakewalk, that is) I wrack my brain over things sometimes that are really simple once I get the propper sequence down. Just a thought.

Just by way of completely baffling me, VS3 & HS2002 performed together quite well for a while. However, the output was clipping, so I switched over to VS3's Mixer view to lower the levels a touch.

And guess what???

KERRASH!

So I gave up and went for a walk with my wife instead.

It's getting closer, stay tuned folks. You will be using VS3 & SoundFonts before too long :)

Umh, I guess I posted that in the same thread as the Using Soundfonts with Creative cards thread... ;)

Cap'n Zullu? I thought Sulu was the Helmsman. Or maybe you're confusing me with one of those African chaps? :)

It's true, people often confuse me for Sean Connery. I couldn't begin to tell you how often women have come up to me in the street and pinched my bottom.

Well, can I have it back please? :D I need to sit down...

(Let me know if you want my Real Name for the FAQs)
I was thinking HR.com/BBS-names, but if you want your real name on it, that can be arranged... ;)
