Hi! My name is Loretta and I am looking to buying a keyboard workstation. I like what I've read so far about the new MO6. But I am really interested in getting one that is really user-friendly, that will produce professional sounding music. Is there a different keyboard workstation you would recommend? Also what kind of software program would work best with the workstation? I have a new Dell Inspiron B130 with 3 USB 2.0 ports. I also have an external hardrive for extra storage but my computer has no firewire port. What is the best thing to do? Lastly, I have read that it is best for me to get a new soundcard. Can you recommend a good one? I would appreciate it very much if you could help me so I don't have to rely on a sales clerk. Thanks!

Uh, none. Thats the point of a workstation, you dont need a computer.

Looking at the specs:

What is the MO missing compared to the MotifES?
Only 3 insert FX vs. 8 in the MotifES
phrase/pattern sequencer only
The sequencer is exactly the same as the MotifES with pattern and linear sequencing and full editing.
Has no audio input or audio recording
no smartmedia storage
will not accept PLG expansion cards
NO SAMPLING OR LIVE AUDIO RECORDING

So its pretty much a multitimberal midi workstation

Yes u def want to get a new sound card. Check out da M-Audio 2496. If you want to use software with an keyboard then maybe you should check out getting a Midi controller and using Reason or FL. But if not the New Mo6 has some pretty good thingz but lackz what my manz said above. So maybe you wanna check out a Roland Fantom or a Korg Triton. Those are good but out of them all the Fantom is the easy user friendly one to me. Right now im using a EMU PK-6 and i use it wit my MPC or i uze it in Cubase juz dependz on my mood. And it getz da job done for me and if i need more soundz i can add expansions to it.
