questions about new guitar(s)

Finally~!!!!
THanks to my parents, I've just got a new guitar

sounds awesome!!... haha i know it s a stupid question ... but... hmmm

i found some scratches on the back and the face of the guitar... is that something I should go back to the dealer to bother about?...

i know it does not affect the sound but you know how it is when you buy a new guitar and finding dents and scratches are mind worrying.. lol

also... i noticed a "little" bump on the face of the guitar... not noticable.. but are wood ever perfectly flat when you buy it?... if this is a problem with humidity i want to go and check with the dealer... hoping they won't say "scratches are normal and face of the wood are never 'perfectly' flat.."

I always check the guitar out and make them discount for scratches etc. This is supposed to be a "new" guitar. If the store cannot provide you with a new guitar, then it is a used guitar in my book.

Scratches are not acceptable on a "new" guitar. Check with your parents - if they bought it as a new guitar, you need to go back to the dealer and thrash this out.

If that "bump" is on a hollow body guitar (you didn't mention what type it was), you'd better make sure it's not a structural deformation due to poor or broken bracing. In any case, whether it's hollow or slab, there should be no tactile irregularities of the surface. Again, take it up with the dealer. Get a new one, or get it discounted if it's structurally sound and you can live with the appearance.
