Slowing becoming un-noob.
So I'm going to be getting my OLD guitar back from a friend soon. It's a Lotus Strat Copy. Pretty shitty guitar, but I plan on messing around with it to my hearts content.
One thing I want to do is convert it from SSS to HSS.

Lets say the area where the pickups are ISN'T completely routed out. And there's only sections of the body missing for the size of the single coils.
Would it be tough for me to make room for a humbucker?
Just wondering.

Thanks guys.

Elliot

There are 'buckers made to fit single coil routing.

Some cheap strats and many of the current fender line have the entire area under the scatch plate routed out. There is no way of telling without getting in there. If yours doesn't you will need some experience with a plunge router and basic router jigs to do a decent job. If you haven't got that find a friend/cabinet maker who has.

Alright. My good friend's dad is a wood worker. So hopefully he'd be willing to do that for me if I need it.
