I was wondering if it would be better(sound quality wise) to just record music from a roland vs-880 through the digital out to a computer, or use the program vs-transfer that allows you to convert the data on the roland to wav files to a computer....Or would it pretty much be just preference?
Thanks for the replies...

If you mean that Polarsonic program VS Copy, I heard they aren't making that anymore or supporting it something like that. If you are talking about the VS2Wav thing, I didn't like using it at all. I don't know for sure about that Polarsonic thing, but regardless, I think you are better off either recording into the PC digitally, or getting something like the Datasonics stuff that lets you keep everything in the VS and work on it from the PC. I record into the PC using the digital I/O in order to get more tracks and editing features. Works great with even something like a SBLive card.

I can do a sp/dif copy with my stuff and I couldn't tell the difference between the original and the copy. My monitoring system is just a home stereo so I'm not saying there isn't a difference, but I couldn't hear it last time I listened.
