Hi everybody, I've been recording music for a couple years now but I just bought my own equipment yesterday so I should be visiting this site quite often now.

I installed a Lexicon Lambda and Cubase LE 4 yesterday, gotta start off small lol.

My question is, I cant figure out how to download VST's such as a classic compressor or a master limiter and have them automatically download into my Cubase option when mixing a track.

I know people hwo have done this but I cant figure it out...

Help would be really appreaciated so I can start ,mixing my vocals haha...

You need to unzip/install the VSTs into your Cubase VST folder, so Cubase can find them when it boots up. It should be something like: Program Files --> Steinberg --> Cubase --> VST (at least on a PC). Look there and put them where the other built-in plugins are located.

OR you can put a folder anywhere you want on your hard drive
(for example C:/VSTS )
and then in the Cubase preferences add that folder to the vst path.

...actually a far better way to do it because then you can point any other audio programs to that path too. If you remove a program then your vsts do not get removed with the program folder...

I thought Cubase LE4 came with compressors already without needing to download any?
