If you are still in high school and on this fourm. Do you want to become a producer or engineer?

I looked there was no where else to put this... I swear. check for youself.

thats the plan! I just started my junior year and am doing several college credit classes so I can take care of the general credit hours. freshman year in college I can jump straight into audio study! woohoo

yea. im a junior and i record bands at my home studio and help out at a professional studio. im planning on becoming an engineer

I would like to get into audio engineering of some sought.
Maybe work in a studio, but I am just happy playing in a band at the moment. I will get some gear for recording soon.

Nope, I'm only planning to go to collage for Audio Engineering, and i've only spent close to $5000 on recording equip (well ok, some of it is for live's) and I'm surfing this forum becouse I have apsolutly no intrest in recording what-so-ever
:D

I'm a sophmore and do recordings of my own/other highschool bands, It'd be nice to be an engineer or producer, but from what i've seen, the pay isnt worth it.

Well said! I'm not at high school, but I'm 17 so I guess I count :p

I love recording and engineering, but I don't think I'd do it as a job. My plan is to train to teach, then try and get into session playing - fall back on the teaching if it doesn't work out.
Recording is too much of a hobby, it's too fun to be work!

Do I want to?................ Yes.

Will I?...........................No

Too much fun to get paid for it? Where is it written that you have to hate your job? If you love doing something, and there are people out there willing to pay you to do what you love, where is the problem?

Well im 19 not really a kid but I live in London and doing a degree in music technology. I have 2 friends that both work in abby road and started out the same age as me. I have something to look towards. The more i work with music the more i enjoy it and ye my intension is to work in abby road or a big studio in London something to aim to i suppose.

Music is my only hobby - if it was my job I'd have no hobby, and that's just gay.

so long it gets me food on the tanle, a roof over my head and music in my ears.. who care's if the pay's low, get treated like sh*t and have people walking all over you, all you have to do is marry a rich wife (or husband) ezy as that (note the sarcasm)
but seriosly, if you love it as much as me and alot of other people on this forum, well keep on doing it even if it makes us go bankrupt (so long i don't have to sell my guitar!!)
