How did you record the First Guitar track on the mix project "Juliet"? Did you do any processing to the track before you put it up?

Details, Details, Details and more Details !!!

Thanks In Advance
Dennis

btw: I put this here instead of PM'ing just in case anyone else was interested.

Knowing Chris he probably split out all the even frequencies and compressed them, split out all the odd frequencies then expanded them, then he did some noise reduction to get rid of some hiss then added some high shelf EQ to bring back some air, then he put it all through a BBE Timilizer Bass Maximumizer to add some punch :D

Tex, lol...

*sigh*

Wow...we've got a "recording techniques" forum?

Hey Dennis, thanks for asking. Oh, and if you haven't, you can pull those tracks down. It was really cool of you to host those.

I used my favorite recording guitar, which is not a real high dollar instrument...It's a Larrivee Rosewood backed D-03. I also used a cheap consdenser, lol... (AKGC3000). It sucks as a vocal mic, but I really like it for acoustic instruments. Anyway, the rosewood makes the guitar SUPER boomy (it was also the crappy bass on that tune, lol). So I placed it up high on the next (about the 9th fret), and I also angled it so that the diaphram was catching it at about 45degrees, with the face of the mic angled towards the headstock.

Obviously, it's just a way to record THIS guitar...it thinned it out enough for me not to half to hack out all of the low end before posting it. I don't have any notes on those tracks, so I have to assume I didn't do anything else. Oh, and I recorded it in a corner of a totally untreated room, lol...so if you're getting any "room reverb," lol...that's the secret. :D

Anyway, thanks again for all your help on this, Dennis.
