Okay, a while back, probably about a year ago, I got some of my stuff recorded and the person that recorded me used a system that looked something like soundforge.

My question:

He did this thing where he would highlight a spot in the recording, then replay the recording from about a minute before the highlighted area and when it hit the hightlighted area it recorded whatever you were playing in the input, and then stopped after the highlighted area.

Is this feature on SoundForge? I don't know if he was using soundforge or not. Also, I looked for it, and I couldn't find it in all of the options and such.

Such a feature is called "punching in;" not sure if Sound Forge can do it or not, but try searching through Help on that term.

I already did before I posted this thread. 'In' is not a searchable term cause it's less than three letters, and no results came from 'punching.'

hi Christopher,
I read your question and automaticly cheked on my soundforge to answer you, well basing on what i understud is that you want to record over a highlited area to fill the same space with a new wave, right?

Simply, when you want replace a highlited area, with a new wave you just : Highlite, click RECORD to open record window, and set the mode on PUNCH-IN(record a specific length), click RECORD and the procces will automaticly stop when hits the end of the highlited area.
