Is anyone familiar with this type of mic adapter. Are all the small tuchel adapters the same? This is for an AKG D19 I haven't got yet.
haha - no relation. Where's he been, anyway?
I got mine on ebay...
Tuchel (pronounced tu-kel)
is a brand name, not a type of adapter. They are not all the same. They come in many different pin combinations. The small ones are an amphenol din style adapter. You could probably find what you're looking for here:
htt"p://www.alliedelec.com/
Or do a Google search for amphenol din connectors with the pin configuration you need.
Sorry, it's not pronounced tu-kel at all.
The "ch" in German is pronounced like the "ch" sound in the Scottish word "Loch" or the "h" sound when you say "Huge".
Sorry, it's a little difficult to describe properly.
Some people make the sound softer and more like a "sh", but it's definitely *not* a hard "k"sound.
We pronounce "huge" ..."huge". The H has a sound like the H in "Haircut" or "Heaven"...because its an H.
LoL
Say it out loud - the "h" in "huge" sounds different from the "h" in "haircut" or "heaven".
Anyway - only a minor thing and that is how the pronunciation was explained to me in a language book.
My wife has a PhD in languages and I tend to get hung up sometimes on pronouncing things properly (as well as spelling foreign names with the correct diacritics).

What the chell is a language class doing in the microphone forum?
And welcome aboard HR John ~ You do realize that the new guy has to provide the drinks and chips, right?

Thanks for the help with the adapter and the language lessons.
I wound up buying a premade to xlr one off ebay. Mouser was back ordered on the part and I couldn't figure out the right one at Allied.
Thanks for that link John. I may wind up getting another of these mics and could use it. I got lucky with this one. I bought it cheap because it had the classic "rattle" problem. But I fixed it!!
Classic rattle problem? Tell me more Steve.
