Question about recording

Hey everyone, just a quick question because I'm ignorant - this Xmas looking to pick up a Yamaha YPT-310 and Tascam DP-004 four track recorder. Is recording to the tascam from this keyboard as simple as plugging them in together and playing away? Is it even possible to record in this manner? Just curious. Thank you, hope it's not a dumb question.
