I am sure its been asked before, but I couldnt find it. So here goes:
There are all these recording/mixing softwares out there today (like I have Cubase SE & also I bought Cakewalk) then you see all these plug ins available. Well I am VERY new to working through software to do my recording and mixing, which "plug-ins" work with which softwares?? Or are they pretty much a standard?
I see alot of plug-ins stating they are VST. Is that like a photo on my computer having a .jpg format (a .jpg will still open on different brand computers)
Or are most of these major softwares "extension specific" for plug ins to work with their own program??
I know....probably a dumb question, but looking for an answer.
Peace
AJ
