Question about mixing/mastering...

Alright, my question is this::
When I listen to pro stuff, or other stuff I hear some of you guys do, you guys can get your files to be really loud...

Whenever I get to a certain point, I start getting in the red area, and it creates fuzz.

So I have a question, is there a plug in or something that you use in order to get that full, loud sound for an end product, or, is it just a problem with me and acid?

i've been expecting you :D

what does extreme compression or hard limiting do?

you make all the sounds of your song "equal loud", that means that you
can drag up the total volume to the maximum, lets say up to -0.1 db, just below the red

then its real loud, but you sqeezed all the life out of your song,
so now its time to search some info about compression and stuff and find a nice plugin, i love the WAVES L3 or even the L2 is great to sqeeze the hell out of music

but remember, you want it good, not loud, right? ;)
