hello i this one track that i want to send for mastering, but with the mix buss clean the entire thing feels cold and not deep, but when i have this ssl mix buss compressor without compression i use from nebula on the mix buss, gives the track the weight and warmth that i love on it and feels the track needs. So question is do u guys say its good to send the track with the it on the mix buss, or should send things clean always?
thnks

Hi mate
Nothing wrong with using mix buss processing if it helps give the track that extra bit of punch you're after.
Just don't squash the hell out of the mix so the mastering engineers still have plenty of dynamics to work with.
Maybe take both versions to the mastering house (explain to them what you have done and how you like the sound of the processed version) and let them decide which version will sit better alongside the other tracks on the album.

Unless you're so confident that it sounds better and want to tie the hands of the ME.

Heh heh.

Cheers :)
