hey this is my first post. i have been reading quite a bit on here lately and i have the basics down, but i have one question i could not find the answer to...

i am using ezdrummer for my drum tracks. i read that if you are sending your mixes away to be mastered you need to leave the mastering engineer with enough headroom, so track around -18db. ezdrummer comes out around 0db, so does that mean i just bring down the fader for that track to get it around -18db? or is there something else i should do? thanks so much for your time!

The reason for not tracking that hot is so you don't overload the mic preamps on the way to your converters. Since EZ-Drummer is completely in the box, you don't have to worry about that.

Of course you will have to bring down the faders on all the drums so that the mix doesn't clip.
