Hey, I'm considering getting the Korg M3.... A few questions:

I was told that I don't need a midi interface if the keyboard delivers midi via USB.
So firstly, does anyone know if the M3 can do this? I can't find it on the website. Furthermore, what's the difference between delivering midi via USB vs through a midi interface. Sorry, total newb here.

Thanks.

First of all, The M3 is an awesome keyboard. I have the 88 key expanded version. You do need to install the drivers from korg onto your computer. You can also do this through the midi ports. Your daw should recognize it as a midi interface and then you should be all set. Usb midi is relatively faster and can transmit larger amounts of data than midi 5 pin din connectors. But you cannot chain midi devices together with usb cables. For example chaining keyboards together through their midi ports.

GREAT, that saves me $300! Yeah, I agree, I played it at a guitar shop the other day and was absolutely blown away. Thanks for your help!
