What's up everybody? :D

Just wanted to drop in here and see if anyone has ever used the Jamvox before. I've got an opportunity to buy good-quality one from a friend for pretty cheap, but the guy lives far away so I can't test it out. Anyone have an opinion on it?

And also, my friend said he lost the cd that comes with the Jamvox, but that's not really a problem, right? I should be able to find the software online somewhere legally right?

Thanks for reading

Found the software online, so I guess now I just need some feedback :)

Awww well...screw it. :D

Guess I'm just gonna buy it and give it a go! Not too expensive anyways (even for a nearly broke college student like me)!

From what I've read, it's kinda like an audio interface for guitars/bass. You plug into it, and the software that comes with it contains tons of amp models/guitar pedals inside it. It also comes preset with like 50 or so well known guitar tones (from famous songs). The cool thing about it is that you can actually see the pedals they used to create the tone, and it's not just a boring preset.

Plus you can import mp3s and remove several different parts (such as bass, lead, or rhythm) from the song and play over it. It lets you slow it down too, if you're trying to learn a part or whatnot! Sounds pretty cool from what my friend has told me! He loves it, but he's selling off some of his gear because he's joining the Marines and figures he won't have much use for it!

I want to use it to get some nice lead tones for some of my songs...it's got a line out on the Jamvox for speakers, so I figure if I run a cable from that to my Tascam Interface, it should all run smooth!

Yeah! 19 amps, 12 cabs, 18 pedals (up to 6 at a time)....should be pretty sick!

I got in touch with my buddy about it, and it should be here sometime in the next week or so! :D

Thanks for sharing this wonderful thread with me, Diggy! :laughings:

Let us know how it goes. I also have the possibility of aquiring a JamVox on the cheap, if it's worth it. I'd like to know any special advantages over a standard USB audio interface that make it worth the extra.
