I am trying to get my little setup going, but am having a difficult time doing it. I bought a Yamaha MG 10/2 to allow some additional inputs and I am getting a staticky or distorted sound and I want to make sure things are wired correctly.

-S08 L&R out go to MG 10/2
-S08 MIDI out to MBox 2 and out of MB2 back to S08
-Out of MG (C-R out) into MB2 (line) I have the left to one Line in and the
Right to one line in on the back of the MB2
-Out of MB2 (Monitor out) to Monitors.

When I create an audio track in stereo there is a lot of "noise" b/c you can see the faders on the screen are jumping. Also, when I hitting the keys, the audio track is moving as well (w/o a mic hooked up!) and the peak lights are coming on, on the MB2, but I can barely get the level meter lights to show anything on the MG 10/2. And this is where I hear the distorted sound is when I play the keys. Also, I can barely get mic volume up enough to hear w/o the peak lights going off on the MB2. I am sure something I have done is incorrect so please help.

Thanks

It doesn't LOOK like you've hooked up anything incorrectly to me. If I were you, I'd start trying to isolate components - for example, if you plug in headphones to the mixer, can you hear then S08 fine through them? What does it sound like if you run the S08 strait to the Mbox (I'm assuming we're talking about a Yamaha S08 synth - I beleive this should work fine). Could be you have a lemon of an Mbox.

If everything is hooked up only through the MBox, everthing is fine, although I do have to keep the levels down on the S08, but that's just a matter of getting the levels on the speakers, MBox and S08 right. I am taking the MG 10/2 back to the store today to have a look at that piece.
