My band has been working on adding some fun little things to our stage show. I bought a bubble machine. The effect was pretty awesome. We put it on a window at the bar behind my kit and the air filled with bubbles. Problem was I aimed it poorly and the bubbles built up on my cymbals. It looked cool and the cymbals sounded terrible but by that time everyone was drunk and they probably didn't notice. My question is: would doing something like this regularly have an adverse affect on my cymbals? If I were to continue doing something like this how could I ensure the longevity of my cymbals and protect them from damage from bubble fluid (if there is any)?
