question about an upgrade

I currently run an Echo Layla 24/96 and its great. I've been greatly considering replacing it with a Mackie Onyx 1640 with the firewire card for many different reasons.

My question is: I was thinking about also picking up a 1 or 2 channel usb or firewire or USB interface on the side for just tracking vocals without having to lug a huge mixer around also one that records dry and without a built in preamp would great, so I can add my own preamps. Can anyone recommend a good, fairly inexpensive one?

When you say fairly inexpensive, it's hard to guesstimate what you mean.

Looks good, but I was thinking more 200 (less than that would be better as my wallet's gonna be hurting from the mackie purchase) dollar range... if it exists.

Won't record dry, but the presonus inspire 1394 has decent preamps for $175, also has 4 inputs, kinda cool little guy for mobile recording.
