What would be your choice of either of these two units for direct recording?

Thanks,

RF

Do they have the rack version of the xt yet? I haven't checked! due to space, I kinda need everything racked! I put the GT in there because they're only about $100 and they're good sounding. I haven't even heard a pod.

Thanks,
RF

I have a Quadraverb GT and I thought it was pretty OK for direct recording. But there was something missing. Then I got a POD and it was like night and day. The POD is so much closer to the real thing it's uncanny. Very satisfactory for home recording purposes. I would bet the POD XT sounds even better...

POD xt sounds way better than either of those. I have an original Pod and at one time or another I have owned probably 10 other rack preamps. The POD xt is the best so far. I'm still working on my review, but it will be posted on the BBS in the next few days. You could always get a rack drawer and stick it in there. I can't say whether there will be a Pro version, but I can say it smokes the POD and POD Pro. The Alesis is old tech, and not even really in the same league.

Ive used the POD Pro on all my recordings so far and its amazing. I would take the POD Pro over anything except the PODxt - now thats a piece of work. If you have the money go for the POD of any kind but if you really wanna be happy wait for a PODxt Pro....friends are line 6 say they may have one coming...hopefully its true

What will the difference be between Pod XT and Pod XT Pro?

Judging from the differences between Pod and Pod Pro, I would assume that the Podxt Pro (if it is made) will be rack-mountable, with S/PDIF digital outputs and balanced XLR outputs as well.

Sorry fellas (and felletes) but my question was a bid misleading and deceptive. I actually already have (2)Quadraverb GT's in my rack. I had one at the studio and one at home so I could write in both places without having to lug gear. I was trying to see if there was anything compelling that would make me NOT get the POD. Based off your comments, I ended buying a Pod Pro. In my rack, I now have a Bass Pod Pro, Pod Pro and a Quadraverb GT for my clean tones. I have to admit the Pod kicks the shit out of the Qverb Gt. I got it for a steal!!

Thanks,
RF
