I did a search and didn't find any current posts about rackmounts.

I've been thinking about upgrading my case so I can mount it in my nifty new rack spaces.

Are there any rackmount cases that work better with DAW's or people have had good results with?

I've been doing some searches on new egg and pricewatch but I'm not sure which ones work better with DAWs. I've gone on quite a spending spree so it would be cool if I could keep cost down.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've seen a few rack mount cases, but they all seem to be terribly deep. My solution was obtaining a standard desktop case that is narrow enough to mount within a standard 19" rack.

I have two Aardvark Q10 cards that require rack mounting, and I wanted the system unit in the same rack so I can secure the cables without constant replugging. My rack is for portable, on-site recording.

Those cases look nice. Power supply is extra? If so, does this case accept standard ATX supplies?

Yes, that ships without a power supply, and it DOES accept a standard ATX supply. It was really easy, just swapped my entire system into that rackmount case... It's just about perfect!

Yikes!!!

35lbs?!!!?? Put that in a rack case and add PC components, those Q10s and you're up to what, 80-90 lbs? Doesn't seem too portable to me. Don't get me wrong, that's exactly the route I've been considering taking but I've been trying to come up with another option that I wasn't going to give myself hernias carrying. Has anybody come up with a liteweight option that will still offer protection to the PC? (I've recently been considering a laptop but $$, upgradeability issues, and other considerations have kind of scared me from that route.)
