I have seen a couple of articles about using Waves Q10 to "seek and destroy" unwanted resonances prior to any additional EQing or compression. I somewhat understand the technique; use a narrow Q and I high boost and sweep the track for any frequencies that resonate. The more the resonance, the deeper the cut. I have had some great success with this on several unruly VSTs but when I apply this to the bass (Trillian) and/or bass registering synths, I find them somewhat lacking. Am I missing something?
I am sure there is a lot more to the technique that I do not know. Any help?
