Pretty cool tune, man. I dig the tone to it. Very low key. Just a straight up rocker. Is that a sax solo? Sounded cool, whatever. I dig the low-fi guitar. It fits with the vox really well.

Dogman,
Yep, REAL sax played in a real shower recess.
The guitar is a Bruno Royal Artist (MIJ early 70's) played through a Marshall Superbass Mk2 using an Ibanez "Renometer No 95" - now that's a REALLY old Ibanez piece 5 band graphic with main & hi Boost. Cop a look at the pic. The rust spots give it a "distressed" look so popular these days.
Truly lo fi guitar playing - 2 note chords etc.
Thanks for the positive comments.
Could you hear the 'cellos behind the solo?
Cheers

Definitely interesting. Sound quality holds it back, words are very good. 80s feel to it. Yes I can hear the cello. Both the cello and the sax need to get out of the shower and come forward, it doesnt match the rest of the song. Sax reminds me of Quarterflash ;)

Its catchy and I like the vox, good job.

Nice!

Well written tune, I like the tone you got outta that guitar setup. I hear a click at the 1:21 mark; a bad punch-in or edit?

Yeah, you want the instruments to sound like they're in the same room in the mix, that sax was great but really out of the mix.

Dig,
The click at 1.21 is a digital glitch from when I uploaded to my PC from tape. I'd forgotten about that. I'll have to throw a crash or something over it.
David,
Quarterflash - I'll have to dig out the LP. I'll have to do a complete rebuild to achieve an improvement in vocal & sax as I upoladed the basic song in simple stereo as I was even more niave than I am now. I'll attempt just that when I have the time.
Dogman,
Thanks for the encouraging words. I think the vox & gtr fit well too.
Cheers & thank you 1 & all.

Revolution Blues - The vocals work really well with this backing track. Bet it takes a lot of breath control to sing that many words (lol). The guitars' lo-fi give it a unique sound again well suited to this tune. The bass is very well done - loud but not boomy - how do you do that? Good sax/cello solos too - bit reverbed out - I would bring them forward a bit at the onset (just a nit). I also like the reverb/echo you have on the vocals. This reminds me of Dire Straits/British rock and roll with its sound. Good Job!

Hey this song is really cool. I like the groove and the vocal feel you have going. The vocals and sax solo and so on keep it interesting throughout. I do agree with the above posts that the sax part could use more presence in the mix. Very cool tune man ;) I'll resist making any mix comments for now, for my speakers are falling apart and sounding terrible.

Enjoyed this :D

Ido1957 & Snakedog,
Ta muchly for the comments & compliments.
I'll have to remix this track from scratch. It was recorded onto 4 track & then uploaded into comp in stereo for augmentation with sundry percussion & cellos.
As a result I can't separate the vox & sax in the present mix. The reverb is, generally, shower cubical natural but I think I can tame it & bring the vocals/sax upfront.
Now I've found out how to nudge & slip in the cakewalk forum I'll be able to upload, synch & then remix.
The bass, a vantage bought in '82, was recorded directly into the 4 track using a built in preamp. It's a lucky result from the combination of tape & pre.
Again, thanks for listening & I look forward to trying to follow your recommendations.
Cheers
