I went ahead and made a few tweaks after my initial mix. Of course I could tweak all day. LOL

Hi mates

Great mixes out there, very good opportunity to practice with a well recorded and produced track.
I have to finish my mix since I was very busy and had no time to work on it. Deadline is June 1st so I undestand I can still upload my version tomorrow right? Still needs some adjustments.

Thank you. I use many type of delay to shape the sound of each verse.

Reverb that I use is just Dverb it comes free with Protools. :) I have many reverb in my system but I think Dverb is well suited. :P

Hello to everyone!! Finally, I've made it! This song is very beautiful and I like to work on it very much!!
I did it totally in the box! I've used Logic Pro X and a lot of analog-emulated plugins from Waves, Soundtoys, Sonalksis, Plugin Alliance etc. You can hear my version of mix by that private link to SoundCloud

I tried to make more dynamic differences between parts of the song, so I used many of automation!

Hi all! Just uploaded my mix:



I thought this was an awesome song. I had a lot of fun mixing it. I hear a lot of great mixes out there. I worked in ProTools 11 using only ProTools' plugins. A lot of my mixing was doing panning and levels to find the right spot for everything. In the end I believe I left out 2 tracks from the mix that I didn't think were necessary.

Once I did a general mix I started going more in depth. I focused a lot on vocals, which were of course a big part of the song. I wanted to get a nice, wide vocal image and find a nice balance for the harmonies. I also used a a lot of reverb and delay on a few of the vocal tracks to create a nice ambience without losing detail. I put just a little compression on the overall vocal mix to gel it together.

I gave the "verse guitar" a little distortion to give it some bite and help it cut through the mix. I also added a delay effect to make it a little more interesting. I EQ'd some high end into the hi hats to give them more sizzle and add some more energy to that frequency range in the mix.

Another cool effect I added was a flanger on the piano, which I automated to activate during the verse and bridge sections. I thought the result was really cool.

Here's my mix (ITB with Sonar 8.5.3, UAD2, Kush, Fxpansion, Slate, Valhalla plugins mostly) ; some effects / dirt added to the piano & drums, some analog color to the synths from the UAD 610 preamp, cut some drums (I found it too buisy on the intro)
