Hello,

I just uploaded my version - medduza_Amber_Skye_Howlin.mp3

I mixed using Cubase with plugins: Lexicon LXP, UAD-2, Waves, Native Instruments and monitors Adam A7X
Mastering: Cubase + waves + GoldMike Mk2

Just uploaded my mix. pureMix_Print.mp3

I used PT11 Native, I have the UAD-2 suite, and the Waves Platinum, however I found myself almost strictly using the Waves Renissance plugs and the UAD Neve Collection. It just works for my workflow. The mix took a total of 3 days.

Overall I enjoyed the song, it definetely has some "Pop" influences on it, so the vocals were a touch higher up than usual. I used a couple 12ms delays to widen the synth image a bit. Minimal EQ, a couple of smilie faces here and there for the overall "pop" feel.

After the print I ran it through UAD's Ampex-102 and it really glued it together and I enjoy using that as a final push to get the sound im looking for.

Hello guys!

I just finished my mix. It was fun mixing this one since it's a good song which I think is quite well-produced/recorded. :) I worked in Logic Pro 9 and some of the plugins I used the most was Softube's TubeTech Grand Channel, TLA-100 and Tsar-1. I think they sound great.

Hi to all! New member here. ;)

I came across this website through pureMix.net. Nice to meet you all! :D
Although I'm member of several mixing communities such as Recording Revolution or MixCoach this is actually my first entry to any mixing competition.

I listened to most of your mixes on here and I'm amazed how many great ideas I've heard so far. As many of you I also didn't listen to commercial release before I was done with mine. It's so great that we can learn so much from one another.

Great recorded material usually sounds allright once you've set the levels and panning and this was no exception. IMO this song needed a great deal of volume rides to get everything to fit in the mix. It was pretty busy at times but I hope I got it in the right ballpark at least.
Lots of waves C6 and 1176 going on pretty much all over the tracks.
Mixed ITB using PT11 and a few plugins from waves and a few that came bundled with PT. Can't live without the SansAmp emulation :)

How did you use the C6? What did you need it for?

I really enjoyed doing this mix and learned a few things doing it. I couldn't hear the Dog FX on my monitors, and got used to not hearing it while mixing. I was surprised when I heard the mix in the truck and easily heard the Dog FX. Now I'm having to start second guessing my monitors. Guess I'll have to look into a new pair that have more lows and highs, but my monitors do have good midrange and spatial separation.
