I recorded my band about month and spent a fair amount of time on it. Now that i look back and compare with friend's bands that spendt upwards of $45/hr to record in a studio, only to come out with something similar or even of less quality what we did makes me happy. Check out the song and let me know what you guys think. I sing and and play bass.

Definately off to a good start. The kick and snare need to come up in the mix to give the tune some more ass. The cymbals sound good to me though, they seem to have a nice "splash". The rhythm guitar isn't quite locked up with the rest of the band and it gives the tune a loose feel. Vocals sound pretty good. Not too bad so far.

thanks for the compliments-

the drums are the parts that i have the most problem with now looking back. I would've liked to have a punchier kick and more crack on the snare, but that's how we learn right? I've gone back since and recorded drums on my own just to see what i could down the line to improve it and i've gotten them to sound much better. If only I had known that when recording. oh well.

the rhy gtr dominates the mix, and is unfortunately out of time much of the time. The vocals are nice and legible, and fit the genre. I'd dump the rhy gtr player (and/or track), back up and rerecord that part, lower it in the mixdown, and you'd be in the ballpark of a decent demo.

yeah I would have to agree that the rhythm git is marching to the beat of a different drummer..:D Good vocals though...The part around 1:55 doesn't sound healthy.... decent vocals though..
