Okay, say I have a recording. The beginning point is A, the ending point, well we'll just call it 'E', and I only want to punch in from B to C, how would I do this? I tried but it kept starting the track over, is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

OK, I know you know how to punch in/out, cause the thread is not too far down. The rewind is the problem, right?
Just hit Locate A, and it will take you there. I always rewind a few bars past that though just to get me on track when the thing starts recording. I do this by hitting only the rewind button and watching the counter and then stop wherever you want. Sounds like you've been hitting stop and rewind together, that'll take you to the beginning of the song.

a point

you have to make sure the (a) point is set to where you want to punch in, or a little before that, not at the beginning of the song or it weill keep rewinding to the beginning, point b is the end of the punch in, there are no other points (e)

hmmm...

I'm not sure what I did wrong. I am almost positive that I pressed 'point A' and 'store', found my punch out point and pushed 'point B' and 'store'. This is correct, isn't it? I haven't monkeyed with it for a few days because my computer finally arrived and has forced me to neglect recording.

Thanks for the help, and sorry about the lull in my response! I do appreciate the invaluable help all here have offered!

Thanx again!

You gotta push "store" first. Once you get which buttons to push first, it gets a lot easier.

just another blonde moment...

I found that in the manual, fairly soon after writing that last post...

Sometimes I amaze myself at how I can complicate the simplistic.
