doulos said:the only reason this mix won is cause its complex. It still has a hell of a lot of low end issues between the kick the synth and the bass track and the reason he got good results was not cause he was a mixing pro, but he had the right tools to work with. Overal its a decent mix, but I've heard better using a live mixer crappy dynamic mics run into cool edit by a 16 year old
"shot your ego"
Such hostility. I did a 2 hour mix on this track I never even listened to it long enuff to resolve relationships well. i just threw something together for the fun of it. LOL But then I live in Detroit and haters abound. LOL. had I taken a few more hours i would have achieved greater separation.

Goes to show you somone who knows what they are doing can get great results with less then optimal gear, as long as you have great tallent and you do. Great job hope to hear more work from your studio in the future
I apreciate your followup response. It is all about knowing what you are doing. As I said I was taught to get a great mix from crap. This mix was some practice for me as I never have mixed this style of music.

In the future I too will be hosting mixing contests as well. I have a ton of gear I'd like to give away. So be on the lookout.
