I'd actually like you to be as excruciatingly granular as you want. Since I know nothing of this genre, I did this as a learning exercise...
 
I'd prefer a detailed critique only limited by time availability on your part. :D.
 
I say critique them all. By submitting a mix to be judged, and submitting it as a public link no less, I say you ahve the right to crtique them all if you want. If a person can't handle some constructive criticism, then their career as an engineer is long past over anyhow:D

I emailed Sonixx with a list of links from people who didn't email him with their last entry. There were two people from my list with broken links, I PM'ed them to email Sonixx too.

are you judging all 29 off of your list mshilarious? I only got the ones from people who said that their post was the final one...which was 19 mixes.

We really need to enforce the submission rule for the next contest so that the judges know where to get the mixes.

I guess it might just be easier for me to make the switch between different genres since I run a pro audio company and have worked with probably 1000 different bands. I have done everything form the Ahn Trio (modern classical), to Ministry, to Damien Rice, to Emmy Lou Harris, to Ministry, to Sum 41, to Beth Orton. In the studio I also work with all sorts of clients from hardcore to classical. That kind of diverse client base has forced me and taught me to be just as diverse with how I track and mix.

Have you worked with all those artists? If you have.. that's a pretty impressive list.

There are some pretty good entries in the 8 (2 broken links) not on the list of 19.
 
I'm almost ready to get started ... it won't take me too long ... but can someone tell me the DEFINITIVE list of entrants and/or where to download the mixes from? Don't let me go hunting for them, I'll only end up judging a wet t-shirt contest by mistake!

ugh, see, i've already gone through the mixes I downloaded Monday from the list Sonixx had...plus a couple in the posts that said "This is my final mix"

The deadline date per this thread was 11/10/05...which was last Thursday. We went through an entire weekend of people being able to contact Sonixx at the last minute...so I downloaded Monday and now it's Wednesday and Sonixx has received even more entries??!! I've already gone through the 19 mixes I downloaded originally and scored them yesterday and today. This makes me perturbed that so many people didn't read the rules and turn their entries in on time.

For the next PMC I would say the best and easiest way to store the mixes is have a seperate thread ONLY for mixes and NO comments ATALL. And also people would have to label their mixes carefully. If they werent sure it was definetly a final mix, dont call it a final mix kinda thing.

This would solve a good few problems I think.
