CE24, fat/wide neck, 7 to 8 years old, dings & scratches, vintage yellow sunburst, in good shape & plays well, case included, serial # 377602. Price tag of $1250.00, $1000.00 is the final price. Made an offer of $950.00 but the store owner refused (snob said he could sale it w/ out my money). Is this a good deal?

Well it depends. I have been seeing brand new CE's going for $1495. So if you were talking just a regular old guitar a 1000 bucks for a used one seems a little steep. But PRS's do hold their value. The CE's are PRS's version of an economy guitar.:) So I believe they do depreciate a little. But if it still plays great and looks great then that's what counts. Some will say that the older a PRS is the better. Because some believe that the quality of the guitars have gone down some with mass production. Personally I don't really think the guitars themselves are of any less quality than they ever were. I do think some accessory things like the quality of cases have suffered. (But your not playing case) So if you think the guitar really plays great probably a $1000 isn't out of the question. I'm surprise they didn't take the $950

If you do buy the guitar, make sure the snob gives you a written guarantee. Any reputable dealer should do this.

After some thought I've decided not to purchase the guitar simply for the fact that the guy really is a snob. Justa bad gut feeling.
