Hello... after my frustrations with getting Cakewalk to work I'm jumped into intro home recording with the BR-8. Thanks to those who helped me make a decision.
I'm a guitar player and here's my setup;
I plan on using my DR-5 for basic drum patterns but eventually I will investigate using software like ACID or Fruity Loops to possibly enhance my drum programming capabilities.
I have several guitars and a couple of preamps/effects units including Digitech Legend, Korg AX100G, Alesis Quadraverb, BBE sonic maximizer, and a Mesa Studio Preamp. I also have an external mixer (haven't figured out how I'm going to use this but probably for mic attachment, and possibly for routing outputs of DR-5 to inputs of BR-8 while synced)
I have a Pentium II 450Mhz 10G and a CD burner. My computer is loaded with Cakewalk (sigh) and Cakewalk Pyro which I plan to use to dump the BR-8, create .wav files and then create mp3's.
.....so, I think I'm ready to go. If anybody is interested in conversing on the finer points of the BR-8 I'd be interested in any tips, short cuts, how you use it, kinks you've worked out, any advice or comments would be appreciated....
thanks,
Rudd
....let's see, I think I'll try a pic and see if it's working...
