Does this so called reaper software have anything on protools?

Reaper all the way

Pro tools is to fussy...wont even reconize its own m audio interface sometimes...I had a hard time getting hardware to setup...Im not alone because I did a search on it and tons of people had the same issues.

Also protools only lets you put like 5 plugs on a track or something like that...Reaper there is no limit to how many can be used.

I had/have no issues with reaper.

---------

Im not bashing pro tools or anything...I like the look and feel of the software however its a bit fussy...and then you need some type of wrapper to use VST plugins...the list goes on with why I dont care for pro tools.

Reaper > Pro Tools

The fact that you call Reaper "so called" and put it up against Pro Tools, of all softwares to choose from, leads me to believe that you only chose Pro Tools for this test because it's the trendy name-drop for DAW software. You probably haven't used it or know of any others, but you've made up your mind already.

Hell...

Reaper > Everything

There's no stopping Reaper. If you can imagine it, Reaper will do it.

reaper is very easy to use..it just has a big record button and some pictures of dinosaurs and tanks

I'll bet you have wonderful things to say about Chuck Norris, too.

i don't know man i see protools in way more high end studios than any other daw...probably for a home recording choice, go with reaper, but the studio I work at uses PT HD and i do come in my pantalones everytime i get to use it. I've never used reaper though, just heard it's the tits.

Reaper has been around how long versus Protools x number of decades ? And look at the rep that Reaper has built in that short time. Protools is just now bragging rights for anyone but an established studio who has invested a great deal of money.

I'll put it to you this way bro,

I've used the following.

Cool Edit
Pro Tools
Nuendo
Logic
Sonar
Magix (LOL)
Acid Pro
Cubase
Garageband.

Reaper is hands down the most user friendly, the least taxing on system resources, Fun to use DAW out of all of them. It comes with a wealth of plugs that are also amazing for the same aforementioned reasons.

With eash of the listed daws i had lists 5 times as long of Nits that i didn't like about each one. Cheifly the drain most put on my system. Cool Edit being the least taxing. But cool edit was kinda blah.

I have yet to pencil in something about reaper that don't like.

And for the price of it. Youd be insane not to make it your daily dose of daw

I'm more using it on the creative end opposed to the technical end so with those other daws I was pretty close to just saying 'FUCK IT' becasue i was so frustrated of having to halt my train of thought to stop and mess with a setting or read a frikken manual to find a setting or troubleshoot.

constantly getting drop outs, signal inputs would stop recording for seconds on end pops clicks background noises. Etc Etc Etc. Espicially Sonar!!!!!

I just wanted to give up on it all together.

granted it may have been my inexpereince and or inattention to my set up... But

When i switched to Reaper all that shit dissappeared.

All of it.

No hardware modifications aside from switching to ASIO drivers.

and my creativity and productivity is back to where it used to be. And i am extremely happy with the results of where i am now.

Hope this helps.

See ..... If Mcfly likes Reaper what more can you ask for? ;)
